The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist, Building/Facility/Construction, Journey 2/Lead, for the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC), located in Anchorage, Alaska. What you will be doing: This position, under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, is responsible for maintaining and repairing the Anchorage Correctional Complex's infrastructure. Duties include skilled work in plumbing, HVAC, boiler, and burner assembly maintenance, as well as diagnostics and repairs for gas-fired kitchen and laundry equipment. The role also involves basic fire suppression and alarm maintenance, electrical and mechanical repairs on locking devices, gates, and door operators, and installation or repair of pneumatic devices. Additional responsibilities include surface preparation, painting, and maintaining security systems, as well as doors, windows, floor coverings, and fencing. Independent work with minimal supervision is required to complete these tasks.
