Bally’s Corporation is a global casino-entertainment company with a growing omni-channel presence, currently owning and managing 15 casinos across 10 states, a golf course in New York, a horse racetrack in Colorado, and having access to OSB licenses in 18 states. The recent acquisition of Aspers Casino in Newcastle, UK, further expands its international footprint and enhances its diverse entertainment offerings. It also owns Bally’s Interactive International, formerly Gamesys Group, a leading, global, interactive gaming operator, Bally Bet, a first-in-class sports betting platform, and Bally Casino, a growing iCasino platform. With 10,600 employees, the Company’s casino operations include approximately 15,300 slot machines, 580 table games, and 3,800 hotel rooms. Bally’s also has rights to developable land in Las Vegas post the closure of the Tropicana. Upon completion of the announced merger with The Queen Casino & Entertainment Inc. (“Queen”), the above portfolio is expected to be supplemented with four additional casinos across three states, one of which will be an additional state that expands Bally’s jurisdiction of operations to include the state of Iowa. Queen will also add over 900 employees, and operations that currently include approximately 2,400 slot machines, 50 table games, and 150 hotel rooms to the Bally’s portfolio. Bally’s will also become the successor of Queen’s significant economic stake in a global lottery management and services business through its investment in Intralot S.A. (ATSE: INLOT). The Role: The Vice President of Human Resources will play a critical role in the successful launch of our Chicago flagship location. This position will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions, with a strong emphasis on talent acquisition, employee relations, and compliance, particularly in a unionized environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in casino openings and a proven track record of managing union relationships. Responsibilities: Develop and implement HR strategies that support the successful Bally’s Chicago flagship opening and ongoing operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Lead the HR efforts, including workforce planning, recruitment, training, and onboarding of staff across all levels and departments. Oversee the talent acquisition strategy to attract, recruit, and retain top talent. Manage and strengthen relationships with labor unions, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and fostering a cooperative work environment. Serve as the primary point of contact for union negotiations and grievances. Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that emphasizes employee engagement and retention. Implement initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization. Oversee performance management systems that align individual and team goals with organizational objectives. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as internal policies. Proactively identify and manage HR-related risks. Streamline HR processes and systems to improve efficiency, utilizing data analytics to inform decision-making and enhance HR performance. Partner with senior leadership across departments to understand business needs and provide strategic HR solutions that drive organizational success. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the hospitality or gaming industry, specifically in casino openings. Proven experience managing union relationships and navigating collective bargaining processes. Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations relevant to the gaming and hospitality industries. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels. Experience in change management and employee engagement initiatives.
