* An unrestricted License to practice as a Pediatric Advance Practice Nurse with prescriptive authority in the State of Texas * Must have a Doctorate or Masters in Nursing * 3 years of experience as a certified Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurse * Bilingual - English/Spanish is preferred but not required * Proficiency in Computer Skills and Electronic Health Records

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provides medical services for patients from birth until 18 years of age, as delegated by the supervising Physician and Chief Medical Officer. * Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other forms of treatment. * Maintains medical expertise and competency as well as demonstrates a thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality primary medical care. Provides medical sessions, as scheduled, in direct patient care at the health center. * Examines, diagnoses treats and/or refers patients for appropriate specialty care services. * Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with the health center's established information management policies and procedures. * Completes patient charts as required by health center rules not to exceed 72 hours after the patient is seen. * Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies and medical protocols. * Reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately. Follows appropriate standards of care for each patient. * Provide education and support to patients and receive and address patient's questions and problems. * Collaborates with Chief Medical Director, Physicians, other Mid-Level Providers, Clinical Quality Manager, Site Supervisor, Medical Assistants, Front Desk Staff, and other team members to assess the needs of clients. * Participates in the review and development of patient care policies, including health maintenance schedules and continuity of care. Serves as a resource and positive, proactive leader for the department. * Ensures that patient and family/significant others are educated about diagnosis and the plan of care. Acts as a resource for facilitating communication when necessary. * Participates in the evaluation of products, procedures, and patient care standards. * Participates in conferences, workshops in specified health promotion, and education and/or prevention programs as needed; attends and participates in clinic meetings/departmental meetings and other clinic functions as required by the Health Center. * Accepts responsibility for remaining current with health care trends and information that impact the medical practice. * Performs other duties as assigned including filling in for other providers at other sites during their absences. * All Health Center staff members have emergency and disaster response responsibilities. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
