Collaborate with operational and network staff to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve system related operational faults as they relate to both hardware and software interruptions. Patch and remediate software and hardware environments to rectify bug and security related findings. Participates in change ticket system: answering trouble tickets, creating tickets for work performed, oversees trouble ticket lifecycle. Utilize appropriate automation tools and scripts to deploy solutions to end environments. Update and maintain system documentation published via Wiki. Document and manage transition between other level 2 and level 3 staff to ensure synchronous support. Participation in change control review and comprehension of correlation to department level impact. Role role Description 1. System Administrator Daily monitoring and maintenance of all Linux OS, Virtual OS, and SAN based system platforms. Conduct patch remediation of hardware and software based platforms. Assist with security based assessment of InfoSec based findings. 2. Development Support Provide assistance to QA and developer environments that include software installation, monitoring, and policy based controls across platforms. 3. Level 2 Support Provides Level 1 or Level 2 support to development and Systems Operations regarding network connectivity issues or server/network related hardware issues. MUST-HAVES: An associate’s degree or equivalent with two years of hands-on experience working with UNIX / Linux. Familiarity with bare-metal (on-premises) systems, Red Hat Linux, system patching, Ansible, and foundational knowledge of networking. Experience with troubleshooting / addressing service requests, routine server maintenance, and hardware component failure. Ability to document and transition incidents seamlessly in a team based environment. Ability to remain flexible with on-call related weekend work. NICE-TO-HAVES: Scripting and / or process automation experience. Prior work experience in financial or real-time computing sectors. Container based platform knowledge in kubernetes. Training or equivalent work experience in large-scale storage (SAN/DAS) management. Familiarity with day-to-day administration and platform management of enterprise backup solutions · Bare metal systems experience, diagnostics and troubleshooting hardware faults in particular for Dell systems (iDRAC software and rack series hardware) · Red Hat Linux OS. A rudimentary understanding of the basics including patching, system logging (reading and comprehension), troubleshooting, etc. · Clear and concise communications skills and the ability to work solitarily in their shift on the above endeavors (with supporting documentation, scripts and repositories)
