We get to witness radical life transformations. The Senior Gift Officer plays a pivotal role in driving Atlanta Mission's long-term financial sustainability and growth. By expertly managing the prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship of loyal donors, this role is essential in identifying and securing legacy intentions, ensuring a robust pipeline of future gifts. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Prospecting and Donor Stewardship: Build and manage a portfolio of 125-150 high-capacity donors and prospects capable of making gifts of $10,000 or more. Develop and implement personalized engagement strategies to deepen donor relationships and inspire meaningful contributions. Conduct face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and written correspondence to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. Promote the organization through presentations, brochures, and involvement in professional groups. Maintain donor and prospect files, compile statistics, and assist with PR and volunteer events. Collaborate with leadership and program teams to identify funding opportunities and craft case statements aligned with organizational priorities. Donor Awareness and Education: Educate donors on gift offerings to meet their philanthropic goals. Secure and use donor testimonials in marketing materials. Major Gift Officer Responsibilities: Track progress towards revenue goals and ensure donor activities are recorded. Recommend cultivation and training routines for achieving goals. Develop proposals, presentations, and reports. Collaborate with leadership and program teams to identify funding opportunities and craft case statements aligned with organizational priorities. Achieve or exceed assigned revenue activity targets, contributing to the overall fundraising goals of the organization. Provide activity reports and revenue forecasts. Perform other major gift activities as required by management. Manage portfolio of $1M. Serve as a mentor and resource for junior gift officers. Actively contribute to team strategy sessions and the development of innovative fundraising initiatives. Represent Atlanta Mission at events, networking opportunities, and speaking engagements as needed. Corporate Engagement: Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate engagement strategy to identify, cultivate, and secure partnerships. Create tailored sponsorship packages, partnership proposals, and other materials to attract corporate support. Manage and grow relationships with corporate donors, ensuring consistent communication and recognition. Collaborate with the events and marketing teams to align corporate sponsorships with organizational initiatives, events, and campaigns. Oversee the planning and execution of the sponsorship sales process for major fundraising events. Track and analyze corporate giving trends to identify new opportunities for partnerships. Collaborate with corporate partnerships team to identify and maximize engagement opportunities. Analytics and Tracking: Analyze giving data and leverage moves management and prospect identification. Present updates and quarterly stewardship metrics. Use donor history and wealth data for prospecting. Track donor information and engagement details in Salesforce. Strength in Unity: You embrace God’s desire for oneness and kingdom-focused unity. Position Requirements: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fundraising or development. Fundraising and Philanthropy: In-depth understanding of fundraising principles, donor engagement strategies, and philanthropic trends. Financial Acumen: Basic knowledge of financial principles and practices related to charitable giving and tax implications for donors. Nonprofit Sector: Familiarity with the nonprofit sector, specifically within the context of mission-driven organizations and their funding needs. Marketing and Communications: Understanding of marketing principles, especially as they relate to donor communication and engagement. Donor Relations: Strong skills in building and maintaining long-term relationships with donors, including personalized communication and stewardship. Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement strategic engagement plans for various donor tracks and giving programs. Presentation and Public Speaking: Proficiency in presenting to community groups, hosting events, and making persuasive presentations. Writing and Content Creation: Excellent writing skills for creating compelling proposals, reports, and marketing materials. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion. Analytical Thinking: Capability to analyze donor data, giving trends, and survey results to inform strategic decisions. Collaboration: Strong ability to work with financial advisors, colleagues, and other stakeholders to achieve fundraising goals. Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust strategies and approaches based on changing donor needs and organizational priorities. Goal-Oriented: Ability to meet or exceed multi-million-dollar revenue goals through effective donor engagement and stewardship. Technology Proficiency: Skilled in using CRM systems like Salesforce for tracking donor information and engagement details. Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting and/or walking). Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer. Must be able to communicate accurate information. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs. Environmental Job Requirements: Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions during events. Moderate noise as in a business office environment. Low exposure to communicable diseases as outlined by OSHA. Special Job Requirements: Travel to/from donor meetings and other Atlanta Mission related events and activities within the Greater Atlanta area (50% of time).
