Job Title: Plain Clothed Armed Security Officer – Place of Worship Job Location: Evergreen Colorado Job Type: Part-Time Reports to: Denver Regional Guard Force Manager Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Plain Clothed Armed Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of the client. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to handle potentially high-stress situations with discretion. As a Plain Clothed Armed Security Officer, you will be tasked with preventing and responding to security threats while maintaining a visible deterrent without being immediately recognizable as security personnel. Key Responsibilities: Ensure Safety and Security: Monitor and safeguard the premises, including interior and exterior areas of the worship facility, parking lots, and other property. Actively deter any threats or criminal activity. Incident Response: Quickly and effectively respond to emergencies, including but not limited to potentially violent situations, theft, vandalism, medical emergencies, and fire alarms. Surveillance: Observe congregants, visitors, and staff members discreetly to identify any potential security risks. Use available surveillance technology, if applicable, to monitor activity. Emergency Preparedness: Execute emergency response plans for various situations, ensuring readiness at all times. Crowd Control: Assist with crowd management during large events or services, ensuring a smooth and peaceful flow of people while remaining alert for any unusual behavior. Maintaining Discretion: Conduct security operations without drawing attention to yourself as an armed officer, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor at all times. Reporting: Document any incidents, disturbances, or observations and report them promptly to the Denver Regional Security Manager or relevant authorities. Maintain accurate logs and incident records as required. Required Qualifications: License & Certification: Valid concealed carry permit and any other state-specific certifications required to carry a firearm in public. Previous law enforcement or military experience is a plus. Must have a current qualification in congruence with Colorado POST standards. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military service. Experience in a religious institution or community setting is preferred but not required. Skills: Strong understanding of security practices and protocols. Proficient in conflict resolution, threat assessment, and emergency response. Excellent observation skills with the ability to identify and assess risks. Discreet and professional behavior when interacting with the public. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations concerning firearms and security. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, patrol the premises, and respond to emergency situations. Preferred Qualifications: Training in emergency medical response (CPR, First Aid) or other relevant certifications. Previous experience in plain-clothed security or as a law enforcement officer in a civilian environment. Familiarity with security technologies, including surveillance systems, alarm systems, and communication devices. Working Conditions: The position requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary. Work will primarily involve discreet patrols of the premises, but the officer must be prepared to respond to incidents as needed. The security officer must wear professional, plain-clothed attire while carrying a concealed weapon in accordance with company policy.
