Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator with expertise in estimating data center projects and modular skids . The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale, complex projects, working closely with project teams, clients, and vendors to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities: Estimating Leadership: Develop comprehensive cost estimates for data centers and modular skid projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Interpret project plans, specifications, and requirements to define the scope of work and identify key cost drivers. Prepare detailed conceptual and final estimates for large-scale projects, often exceeding multi-million-dollar budgets. Bid Preparation & Presentation: Prepare competitive bid proposals, including assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions. Collaborate with business development and project teams to tailor bids to client requirements. Lead bid reviews with senior management and project stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and subcontractors. Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to align estimates with project goals and execution strategies. Provide technical expertise during pre-construction, value engineering, and planning phases. Mentor junior estimators, sharing knowledge and best practices to develop team capabilities. Market Analysis & Cost Management: Stay informed on market trends, material pricing, and labor rates, particularly in the data center and modular construction sectors. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for efficient project execution. Process Improvement: Enhance and maintain estimating tools, templates, and databases to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Drive innovation in estimating practices to keep pace with industry advancements in data centers and modular construction. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 3 years specializing in data centers and modular skid projects. Demonstrated success in preparing estimates for complex, large-scale projects in the technology and industrial sectors. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and IT systems. Expertise in modular skid design, fabrication, and installation processes. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., FastPIPE, FastDUCT, or equivalent) and project management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam). Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts. Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and client-facing interactions. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Certifications: Professional certifications in estimating, such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), are a plus.
