Immigration Attorney Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Zip Code: 33317 Schedule: 40 Hours a week Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 (negotiable based on skills and experience) About Our Client: Our client is a Florida non-profit pro bono law firm dedicated to meeting the legal needs of a large, diverse, multiethnic community across Broward County. Their mission is to provide high-quality, free civil legal advice, representation, and education to the disadvantaged of Broward County. With over 125 employees, including more than 50 attorneys, they offer free services and resources across a broad range of civil legal issues that impact health, safety, and self-sufficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide individual immigration consultations and know-your-rights presentations to immigrant communities. Represent clients before various agencies, including immigration court, ICE, USCIS, and state and federal courts, in applications and advocacy for relief from removal. Engage with allied community organizations, including presenting community education programs. Participate in the preparation of grant and billing reports. Qualifications: Active membership in a State Bar (does not have to be Florida). J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Preferably 1-3 years of relevant experience in immigration law. Experience serving low-income communities preferred but not required. Demonstrated capacity to exhibit appropriate sensitivity to and empathy for individuals who have survived traumatic experiences. Passionate about serving immigrants and vulnerable populations. Ability to work effectively with a large caseload and function professionally in a highly stressful environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including other attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners. Ability to balance and manage a variety of responsibilities. Strong commitment to social, economic, and racial justice. Ability to speak Spanish or another language in addition to English is a plus.
