Our Mission, Vision, and Values guide the way we do business.Are you ready for your next career challenge?The Airborne Systems Business Area, part of the Defense Sector at Leidos, currently has an opening for a cleared Software Engineer to work in our Beavercreek, OH or Hanscom AFB, MA offices. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD missions. Your role will be to support our diverse portfolio of programs through a combination of software design and development, hardware interfacing and integration, laboratory experimentation, ground and flight testing to deploy cutting edge, next generation solutions.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain mission-critical software in support of national defense, and intelligence gathering products for both airborne and ground-based systemsParticipate in laboratory, ground and flight testing to validate softwareDocument and communicate proposed software solutions with integrated, cross-functional engineering teams in a fast paced highly technical environmentStay up to date on state-of-the-art programming techniques and software technologiesParticipate in software design and code reviews to ensure delivery of quality products and enhance skillsetsBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 10-13 years of experience in software engineering, computer engineering or related field.Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: C++, Java, PythonExperienced in systems integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex system problemsExperience working in a SIL environmentAbility to communicate effectively in writing and verbally from informal one-on-one discussions or in a small group environment.Work well within a team and independently with minimal supervision.Ability to work within a dynamic work environment, ability to handle multiple tasks at once (multi-task)Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.Must be a US Citizen.Must be able to acquire a top-secret security clearance.Strong interpersonal and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsActive DoD TS/SCI clearanceFamiliar with Agile Methodologies, preferably SCRUM or KanbanExperience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, BitbucketExperience with model and simulation environments to support simulation and testExperience with Live and Virtual Constructive environments to understand complex systems and troubleshooting points for integrationFamiliarity with DoD Open Architectures such as OMS and SOSAExperience with containerization technologies such as docker or podmanExperience with KubernetesExperience developing and deploying to offline environmentsStrong understanding of Linux systemsExperience with Unit Testing and CI/CDStrong understanding of IP based network protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTPPrior experience working with the DoDOriginal Posting Date:2025-01-03While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
