Data Center Network Engineers at Meta are hybrid software and network engineers who design, build, and operate our worldwide Data Center network. This team owns the complete lifecycle of the Data Center network, which includes areas of planning, design, product definition, QA, deployment, and monitoring. Simple, elegant, and scalable network design, automation, and data analytics are the keys to meeting our demands. In this role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for conceiving design solutions, developing and deploying network software, systems, and tools that keep the Data Center network operating at maximum reliability, scalability, and efficiency.Network Engineer, Datacenter ResponsibilitiesDesign network topologies and configuration for the DC Fabric networksDevelop IP addressing and routing policy intent in the DCCreate deployment packages and maintain as-built documentation for installed network gearEstablish and implement global best practices and lead the design of new scalable network solutionsDefine and partner with network hardware, software, and vendor teams on the development of network platforms (switch and optics)Partner with the inhouse SWE, Tooling, Planning, Simulation, and Delivery teams to codify the network designsParticipate in an on-call rotation to support the global datacenter network infrastructureMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.10+ years of relevent experience responsible for designing, deploying and operating large-scale networksExperience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP-TE)Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with networking hardware4+ years of programming language like Python, Go, C/C++ for developing automation software or toolingWorking knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cablingExperience managing multiple projects simultaneously and deliver against deadlinesExperience working in global team environments and solve problemsTechnical leadership experience
