We are seeking a Principal Substation Physical Engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team in Atlanta, GA. As an essential member of our organization, you will collaborate with various electric utility disciplines and lead high voltage utility substation projects. Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for medium to large scale utilities/substations, including layouts and electrical arrangements.
  • Perform advanced engineering studies, calculations, and Quality Control reviews on substation projects.
  • Create and review project scopes, proposals, and bills of materials.
  • Deliver technical presentations to enhance team development.
  • Engage with clients, including site visits, ensuring a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership on various projects.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to achieve project objectives.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field with 8+ years of Substation physical design experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in executing substation projects.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams and clients.
  • Experience with quality control checks and project management duties.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and creating substation physical and protection/control drawings.
  • Familiarity with grounding studies and site visits.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in QA/QC processes and knowledge of BUS calculations.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as WinIGS or CDEGS.
  • Experience using SDS AutoCAD Electrical software.
