Overview

We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team in our Poynette, WI manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing manufacturing equipment and processes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing equipment performance along with ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing equipment and systems to meet capacity and production requirements.
  • Manage innovative projects (planning through implementation) to design, budget, select vendors, install, and start-up robotics and automated systems to reduce labor and overhead costs.
  • Lead equipment development and upgrades to support New Product Introductions (NPI). Interact with design engineering and product management teams to ensure product reliability and conformance to specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, engineering, and other department stakeholders to evaluate and analyze department KPIs and identify opportunities to improve equipment uptime and OEE, eliminate safety and ergonomic risks, reduce waste, and improve costs.
  • Diagnose, analyze, and make improvement recommendations to existing equipment using root cause analysis techniques.
  • Maintain records pertinent to each project, e.g., sketches, drawings, material specifications, FMEAs, and maintenance requirements .
  • Assist in training maintenance and production teams on new and existing equipment and technologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in manufacturing and lean methodologies.
  • Curious and inquisitive mindset with focus on problem-solving.
  • Strong project management skills and desire to lead projects that shape our manufacturing floor.
  • Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards in manufacturing
