GENERAL FUNCTION: The electrician installs and repairs wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard vessels and in the facility.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
Follows blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
Installs conduit to bulkheads with brackets and screws and threads wires through conduit to terminals such as connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators and switch panels.
Runs Cable, Bands Wireways, Packs Transits installs cable tags.
May construct and install instrument panels, using hand tools, rulers, dividers and power drills, following specifications.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of blueprints and drawings or schematics preferred.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Prior experience, as an Electrical Trade assistant or Apprentice is desired with experience in an industrial or shipyard environment preferred.
