CTG is seeking to fill a Hardware Designer opening for our client in Rochester, MN.

Duties: Create and optimize layouts for PCBs and ICs, ensuring proper arrangement of components and routing of electrical connections. Perform design rule checks (DRC) to ensure compliance with fabrication specifications and standards. Analyze and mitigate issues related to signal integrity, crosstalk, and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Collaborate with circuit design engineers to understand circuit functionality and requirements, incorporating feedback into layouts. Assist in the fabrication of prototypes, ensuring layouts are manufacturable and meet quality standards. Generate clear and detailed layout documentation, including Gerber files, assembly drawings, and design specifications. Use Cadence Virtuoso layout editor XL for layout design and verification. Support testing and debugging of prototypes, identifying layout-related issues and implementing corrections. Skills: Proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso layout editor XL. Strong understanding of multiple patterning techniques, ideally with experience in finFET technology and 14 nm nodes at Global Foundries or Samsung. Experience with full custom analog/RF design or array design and custom digital design. Ability to analyze signal integrity and work through complex layout challenges. Familiarity with design rule checking (DRC) and signal integrity analysis. Proficiency in layout software such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Graphics. Experience: Prior experience in layout design for PCBs or ICs. Experience with finFET technology and the 14 nm process node is strongly preferred. Experience with multiple patterning is a plus. Previous integration experience or leadership in a physical design role is a major bonus. Education: A Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $55.00/hour to $65.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
