Eurofins Environmental Testing Southwest is searching for a Laboratory Technician I in Tustin, CA. The Sample Preparation Laboratory Technician I is responsible for utilizing general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs, to weigh, digest and prepare soil and water samples for trace metal analysis. Laboratory Technician I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Sample preparation duties may include, but are not limited to the following responsibilities: Evaluate backlog and prioritize daily workload based on required due dates and holding times. Retrieve samples from sample storage for digestion and preparation. Weigh and measure sample aliquots for digestion and preparation. Document required sample preparation details and observations. Prepare reagents and standards for daily use. Maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with the laboratory quality assurance program. Perform daily duties while adhering to the environmental health and safety policies. Wash laboratory glassware as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment. Actively communicate with department manager, analytical team, and project managers about job status, rush ETA, sample matrix issues, holding time, etc. Assist other areas of the laboratory as needed. The ideal candidate would possess: General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science. Basic mathematical skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to learn quickly and multi-task. Work independently. Work within time constraints. Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills. Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies. Basic Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
