JOB DESCRIPTION Apex is seeking a dynamic Lead Consultant Specialty with strong consultative skills to serve as a Data Architect, Internal Practice Consultant within our Consulting Practice as part of our Apex Systems Solutions Delivery Organization. This exciting new role will be far from a managerial role, and you'll be very hands-on and intensely focused on developing Modern Data Strategies and Solutions for government use within a cleared environment (Secret Clearance Required). As an Architect, you will be at the forefront of innovation and development, focusing on the design and implementation of modern data platforms. The project will be focused on developing & integrating a behavior analytics platform that uses into a secure, dedicated environment for government use. Work will include the use of AI, data modeling, data analytics, API-first design and integration, and follow robust cybersecurity measures. The goal is to deliver a tailored solution that meets the government's evolving needs and operational requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES Define and document the enterprise technical/functional/reference data architecture, principles, standards, guidelines, and best practices, including the physical components and their functionality. Provide technical consultation and data solutions based on business needs; oversee architectural aspects of business solution development and deployment. Create scalable, secure, and flexible data architectures spanning various data domains (Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Virtualization, Data Warehousing, Data Governance, MDM, Data Quality, Data Catalog, Analytics, BI, ETL/ELT). Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Data Governance teams to modernize analytics and implement data governance processes. Facilitate the establishment and execution of the Data Roadmap, Strategy and vision for information delivery and management including defining end-to-end Data management life cycle. This Enterprise data architect will provide standards and guidance to functional data architects and partner with the enterprise architecture function to deliver the optimal data solutions. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and present solutions to clients. Demonstrated ability to work in a client-facing capacity, understanding their needs and translating them into technical solutions. Ensure compliance with applicable government/DoD standards, including security and regulatory requirements. Stay informed of advancements in data management and analytics technologies and best practices. Offer insights and recommendations to address complex data challenges in classified/DoD environments. JOB REQUIREMENTS Active security clearance (DoD Secret) required. 7+ years of related experience in Data Technical Leadership, Engineering, or Analytics, including 3+ years in Data Architecture. 3+ years of experience working on classified projects. Proven track record of designing and implementing modern, enterprise-scale data solutions. Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL database design and management. Experience designing scalable data solutions in cloud (GCP preferred, AWS, AWS GovCloud, Azure acceptable), on-premises, or hybrid environments. Expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) and data integration. Proficiency in building workflows and pipelines for data movement and transformation. Comprehensive understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and practices. Familiarity with government-specific security protocols and compliance requirements. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and mentor teams. Experience in development of products and solutions involving Geolocating individuals, Human Data Collection Products, Threat and Vulnerability assessments, Source Operations Targeting preferred. Experience in Google Cloud Platform preferred. Experience engineering with Graph Database solutions preferred. Experience/Knowledge in Generative AI capabilities preferred.
