Associate Vice President & General Manager
Location: Houston Salary: USD 150,000 - 200,000 Houston Public Media, a service of the University of Houston System, invites candidates for the leadership position of Associate Vice President and General Manager. This is an opportunity for an innovative leader with a proven track record to create a next-generation public media model. With transformative changes in technology, audience building, content creation, and distribution, the Associate Vice President and General Manager will be expected to build on a solid foundation to create a far-reaching vision for Houston Public Media and its television, radio, and digital resources. The leader oversees strategic planning, overall administration, fundraising, and the budget for the over $20 million organization and reports to UH’s Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance. Located in America's fourth-largest city, Houston Public Media serves residents with quality news and entertainment including national programming from NPR and PBS. Houston offers world-class entertainment, and a vibrant art, culinary, and sports scene. The preferred candidate will bring significant media experience in a senior leadership role with a demonstrated ability to manage innovation and change. They will be a true collaborator and an inclusive leader, bringing strong business acumen and a track record of developing a comprehensive strategy and shared vision in a collaborative manner with key stakeholders.
