Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, product, and other software engineers to understand the business problem, review business requirements, draft technical requirements, scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services and systems. Collaborate with your team to perform design and code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and improve operational excellence to ensure high quality, high availability, scalable, and performant systems. Create and enhance medium-sized applications, services, or significant sets of components within a large application. Contribute in any layer of the stack, from front-end development to back-end services and data. Design and develop using Python, Java, PHP, HTML/CSS, C#, Scala, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, Go, SQL, or related technologies. Develop and maintain operational dashboards to detect and investigate system issues to minimize customer impact. Architect and implement robust, well-tested services. Conduct technical design and code reviews for peers within the team. Identify and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to accelerate developer velocity. Own team coding standards, code review norms, deploy process, and monitoring strategy. Oversee the development and implementation of software solutions across multiple offerings of People Tech Platform, supporting every step of Walmart’s associate. Analyze user requirements, create technical specifications, and code software solutions. Work cross-organizationally with product managers, designers, and other engineers. Ensure the quality of the software by conducting thorough testing and debugging to identify and fix any pre- and post-production issues. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies. Research new tools and frameworks, attend conferences and workshops, and continuously learn and improve their skills. Minimum education and experience required:
Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area;
OR
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area. Skills required:
Experience designing and developing using Java, Python, HTML/CSS, C#, Scala, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, Go, SQL, or .Net. Experience creating scalable back-end or front-end applications using HTML, CSS, Java, Python, GoLang, React, React Native, Flask, FastAPI, Spring, or Dotnet Core. Experience with web programming and development to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility using PHP, JavaScript, React, Java, jQuery, Mustache, Kafka, Kafka Connect, Avro, Redis, Elasticsearch, Airflow, Hive, Vertica, Apache, Spark, Storm, Aerospike, SOLR, Docker, or Kubernetes. Experience defining test plans and performing/executing unit testing for deployment. Experience with SQL database development including designing queries, triggers, and stored procedures, performance tuning, or data ETL. Experience scripting with Python, Shell, Transact SQL, or PowerShell. Experience utilizing Jenkins, Maven or Gradle, Hudson, Control-M, or Puppet to deploy application code into server environments. Experience with web or application development and web service development using REST, SOAP, or GraphQL. Experience in Java, Python, or PHP. Experience utilizing infrastructure automation tools including Kubernetes, Terraform, or Packer. Experience version control using Git or SVN.
Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. Salary Range:
$137,259/Year to $216,000/Year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives. Benefits:
