The Opportunity: We are seeking a proactive and skilled Linux Administrator to join our secure IT team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with extensive experience in Linux systems administration, automation, security implementations, and integration with enterprise directory services. This position requires a current SCI clearance with polygraph.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on both physical and virtual environments using kickstarts.
Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Puppet and Ansible.
Implement and maintain security configurations following Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Proactively troubleshoot complex Linux-related issues and implement solutions.
Manage user access and authentication using Centrify and Active Directory.
Ensure compliance with DoD security policies and procedures.
Take initiative in improving systems, processes, and security measures.
Collaborate with other IT teams to maintain system reliability and security in a classified environment.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active SCI clearance with polygraph.
Current Security+ certification.
5+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator in a DoD or similar secure environment.
Proven experience installing and configuring Linux on physical servers and virtual machines.
Strong knowledge of Puppet and Ansible for configuration management and automation.
Excellent troubleshooting skills for Linux systems and applications.
Experience implementing and maintaining security configurations based on DoD STIGs.
Experience with Centrify for Linux-Active Directory integration.
Familiarity with Active Directory and LDAP.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field experience.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
Desired:
Additional relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, LFCS, CISSP).
Experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and cabling.
Knowledge of FISMA, NIST, and other security frameworks.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in classified environments.
Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl.

Pay Range : The proposed salary range for this position is: $89,500-$188,000.
