As a Software Engineer, you will spearhead the development and optimization of instrument drivers and human-machine interfaces for our advanced robotic automation systems. Working alongside a diverse team of experts, your role will be crucial in implementing cutting-edge robotic technologies that enhance operational efficiency, boost productivity, and elevate process quality. Your contributions will be pivotal in our commitment to technological advancement and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Programming and Control:
Develop, test, and refine instrument driver and HMI software for diverse robotic applications.
System Integration:
Construct interfaces and communication protocols to integrate with other machinery/instruments and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Diagnose and remedy any integration-related complications.
User Interface (UI) Design:
Develop intuitive User Interfaces (UI) that streamline process management for automated systems.
Testing and Validation:
Perform exhaustive testing and validation of robotic systems to certify compliance with performance, quality, and safety benchmarks.
Interpret data and refine design and controls based on feedback.
Documentation:
Generate and sustain comprehensive technical documentation, such as design outlines, operational manuals, and troubleshooting procedures for robotic systems.
This role will require travel, up to about 50% of the time, or 2 weeks per month. Travel will primarily be in the United States, but there may be opportunity for international travel as well.
Educational Requirements : Bachelor's Degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable discipline preferred.
Robotics Expertise:
Robust understanding of robotics fundamentals, dynamics, and control mechanisms.
Experience:
At least 2 years of significant professional experience in the robotics arena, with a documented track record of leadership and successful project completion, strongly preferred.
Experience with CAD, 3D printing, and CNC, strongly preferred.
Basic user interface design experience, given documented API, strongly preferred.
Experience writing drivers and hardware user interfaces, required.
Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in programming languages like C++, C#, Python, and familiar with ROS.
Problem-Solving Prowess:
Adept at identifying and resolving intricate technical problems.
Communication Skills:
Exceptional ability to convey complex ideas and collaborate effectively with team members.
Safety Knowledge:
Acquaintance with safety protocols and best practices concerning robotic systems.
Adaptability:
Eagerness to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-evolving work environment.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
Experience writing drivers and hardware interfaces.
Previous experience with robotics.
