Summary:

The Controls Engineer is directly responsible for all aspects of PLC and HMI software design and development. The ideal candidate will be someone who has several years of experience programming using both Rockwell and Siemens.

Working knowledge with hardware design. This would be for automotive and nonautomotive (Industrial and Manufacturing customers).

The Controls Engineer will work with cross functional groups as well as support other engineering groups to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

The ideal candidate will program PLC and HMI software within the budget and on schedule, must communicate effectively with team members and customers on project status and needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• 5 plus years' experience programming with all Allen Bradley Rockwell and Siemens, PLC and HMI software platforms.
• Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI software to customer specifications and requirements.
• Proficiency in hardware design with the ability to translate and interpret PLC wiring diagrams, Control Narratives, P&ID & electrical/hardware drawings.
• Proactively collaborating with entire project team to create industrial equipment control systems.
• Complete all programming projects (control logic, HMI Screens, etc) accurately and in a timely manner.
• CAD and AutoCAD proficiencies. EPlan is a plus.
• Strong technical and analytical proficiency with the ability to multi-task effectively and thrive in a team environment. Must have the fortitude to work on

multiple projects.
• Experience configuring EtherNet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, and plant floor systems implementation (automotive).
• Provide continuing expert technical support with commissioning and validation of industrial equipment systems at customer's location.
• Must be able to travel throughout North America and Canada to customer's locations. 25-50% of travel is required. May require more if needed.
• Follow all Anderson Process safety and quality policies.
• Experience in both Automotive customers and nonautomotive (Industrial customers) with their projects.

Education/Skills/Experience

Required:
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to effectively communicate throughout the organization and to our customers.
• Strong analytical ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
• Ability to perceive needs and work independently (critical thinking).
• A strong understanding of mechanical systems and their interaction with controls.
• Understanding of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and basic electrical safety procedures.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be covered by company insurance.

Preferred:
• Experience with additional software platforms such as Mitsubishi and Omron.
• Solid understanding of pneumatic controls. P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagram) and experience in fluid flow or fluid dispensing systems

is a plus.
