Logistics Specialist - Branford, CT
Evotec (US) Inc. seeks a Logistics Specialist for their Branford, CT site. The purpose of this position is to provide physical and data handling in matters pertaining to shipping and receiving with some purchasing support for the Branford Sample Management Operations. As part of a team, the qualified individual will participate in the development of the logistics operation and provide support to the operations team, as needed. The position requires a highly motivated individual with both operations and shipping expertise, able to work in a high demand environment with extreme attention to detail and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Carries out tasks in shipping, receiving, facilities, and inventory control.
Shipping Expert -Domestic, International, Courier, Hazardous Chemicals, DOT/IATA Regulations:
The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $46,000 to $51,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on the individual's skills, experience and competitive market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision, short-term and long-term disability, company paid basic life insurance, 401k company match, flexible work, generous paid time off and paid holiday, wellness, and transportation benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Carries out tasks in shipping, receiving, facilities, and inventory control.
Shipping Expert -Domestic, International, Courier, Hazardous Chemicals, DOT/IATA Regulations:
- Carries out tasks per standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- May be required to author or review SOPs in the Veeva Vault system
- Able to master in-house compliance software as it pertains to import/export controls
- Keeps timely and accurate records, documents all required data transactions
- Prepares and executes shipments of products and materials as scheduled by operations
- Able to handle flexible, sometimes demanding workload on schedule in a fast-paced environment within a dynamic team
- Receive and store incoming consumables
- Coordinate with the Project Management Office to ensure proper billing of received consumable supplies as needed
- Prioritize duties within guidelines of the Laboratory Operations and Accounting schedules
- Helps with inventory scanning, labelling, facilities infrastructure, and safety as required, including moving, assembling, loading and unloading
- Ability/willingness to operate a forklift as needed. (Training can be provided)
- Assist in retrieving hazardous chemical samples from various storage conditions (Ambient, refrigerated, and frozen) as needed to support Laboratory Operations team
- Works independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Ability to keep accurate records and schedule shipment pick-ups as required
- Must adhere to laboratory safety standards
- Must be willing to obtain certifications needed to handle shipments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred knowledge of basic compound management tasks a plus.
- Able to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and move large boxes
- Capable of using a pallet jack
- 2-plus years' experience in logistics is a must
- High school diploma or college
