JBM Recruitment was hired to assist our client in identifying candidates for their Human Resources Generalist opportunity. This is an on-site position and my client has offices in the Bloomingdale area. ROLE DESCRIPTION Provides expertise and support to all areas of Human Resources by performing the following duties: RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates the company’s workers compensation program. Files claims with the insurance company within 48 hours, follow up on all workers compensation administrative requirements. Communicates regular updates on status to employees, supervisors, and leadership. Initiates follow up as needed. Provides guidance to employees and Supervisors regarding FMLA & LOA. Tracks all FMLA, disability, work-related and other leaves of absences. Sends required notices, including completing and sending disability claims to providers. Collaborate with the Benefits group to ensure required insurance premiums are paid when employees are on leave. Handles details of a highly confidential nature such as employee injury reports and other special reports. Maintains confidentiality of all employee records as necessary and follows policy regarding release of information. Assists with annual benefits open enrollment period. Assists with employee relations. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Investigates problems, such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, and employee conflicts. According to circumstances, provides guidance to employees, supervisors and managers. Provides timely reports on employee relation issues and outcomes. Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations and conducts employee interviews with current employees. Identifies trends and strategies to increase employee retention. Supports recruitment efforts as needed. Assists various locations with recruitment needs. Discusses staffing gaps and needs with supervisors and managers. Collaborates with the Recruiting Team to staff accordingly. Updates and distributes job descriptions as necessary. Continuously looks for process improvements. Performs a variety of administrative duties in all areas of Human Resources. Assembles and distributes information (i.e. training, benefits, company policies, company events) to employees. Administers employee surveys throughout the year. Assists with other Human Resource duties, special projects, and employee events such as wellness screenings, and special employee activities. Complies with safety and GMP requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR or SPHR certification preferred. Advanced knowledge of personnel policies and procedures, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices is required. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and the public. Oral and written bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish) are strong preferred. Excellent problem solving and judgment skills required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task is essential. Strong communication (oral and written) skills required
