Position Overview: A leading agricultural company in Hawaii seeks a Food Safety Manager to oversee and manage food safety protocols at a fresh citrus packing facility and field operations. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. As a key leader in food safety operations, the Food Safety Manager will play an essential role in safeguarding product integrity and fostering a culture of compliance and excellence across the organization. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain food safety programs and procedures (HACCP, GMP, FSMA). Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify risks and ensure compliance. Train staff on food safety regulations, best practices, and company policies. Oversee maintenance and sanitation protocols for the facility and field operations. Investigate food safety incidents and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a culture of food safety. Maintain detailed records of audits, inspections, and corrective actions. Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory updates. Skills: Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSMA, and food safety standards. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with food safety management tools and software. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. 5 years of experience in food safety management (preferably in fresh produce or citrus). Experience with third-party audits and regulatory inspections is a plus. HACCP certification preferred.
