Penick Village continuing care retirement community is seeking a Part -Time, RN Supervisor for every other weekend shifts.

As the RN Supervisor, you will supervise residents care and assist the healthcare team with clinical oversight, quality assurance and performance improvement activities as needed. The RN Supervisor will have oversight for clinical staff to include RN's, LPN's, CNA's, Med Tech's and Med Aides in accordance with policies and procedures and state specific nurse practice acts. As part of an interdependent team of skilled and caring people, the RN Supervisor must act in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern Penick Village, to ensure that the highest quality of resident care and safety is maintained always.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing assigned area in a manner consistent with the organization's mission, values, goals and objectives to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
  • Interpreting and communicating facility and department of nursing missions and resident/patient care standards to staff, residents/patients and family members.
  • Create a conducive environment for continuity of care, staff development and job satisfaction
  • Serve as a Liaison between family members and staff communicating changes in resident status, new orders, and interventions implemented to maintain optimal level of care.
  • Supervise licensed and unlicensed personnel.
  • Assist with staffing needs
  • Provide in-services and mandatory training of new existing associates as needed.
  • Monitor all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc. to ensure documented in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Complete medication and chart audits per schedule.
  • Assist with daily stand up report and follow up on necessary items.
  • Visit with scheduled residents on a weekly basis and document.
  • Monitor medication passes for compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with orientation and all training necessary to ensure competency readiness of all new hires as needed.
  • Monitor to ensure only authorized abbreviations used when recording information.

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
  • NC RN License
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current American Heart BLS CPR Certification
  • Maintain CEU's

Resident Rights Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of all residents
  • Knock before entering a resident's room.
  • Ensure that the resident's rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all.
  • Review resident complaints and grievances and make written reports of action taken to the Healthcare Administrator. Discuss with resident and family as appropriate and in a timely manner.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the assigned work setting
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully completed.
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical assessment.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the
