ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Oberto team has an opening for the critical position of Quality Assurance Lead. The Quality Assurance Lead assists with the functions of the Quality Assurance Department. Focus on managing nonconforming inventory and testing. Ensures compliance to customer, and company specifications, and regulatory agencies. Supports training and ongoing training of QA techs. Reviews data collection for accuracy and process control. Responds as needed to issues involving safety, Food Safety, and Quality.

SCHEDULE:

  1. 3rd Shift Hours 8:00pm - 4:30am

WAGE: $27.00 per hour

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Provide oversight, development and maintenance of quality programs/certifications, systems, processes, and procedures.
  2. Ensure compliance with policies so that the performance and quality of services conform to established standards and agency guidelines.
  3. Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, regulatory and/or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance or certification requirements.
  4. Work directly with operating entities to provide process analyses oversight on a continuing basis to enforce requirements and meet guidelines.
  5. Lead audit and inspection preparation, resolution of audit and inspection findings and liaise with auditing groups and inspectors.
  6. Coordinate legal requests in support of government investigations or litigations.
  7. Ensure the quality assurance programs and policies are maintained and modified regularly.
  8. Facilitate uniform standards worldwide and enable best practice sharing.
  9. Assure that nonconforming product is addressed in a timely manner.
  10. Participate in and investigate vendor and/or customer complaints on existing products and non-conformance issues.
  11. Provide technical and process direction to Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
  12. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.
  13. Participate in cross-functional product teams as the representative for Quality.
  14. Draft quality assurance policies, procedures, and forms. Interpret and implement quality assurance standards.
  15. Execute programs, correspond effectively, forecast, and respond to problems to minimize product deviations from established standards.
  16. Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards.
  17. Participate in other plant teams and programs such as HACCP Team, SQF Team, and others as assigned.
  18. Monitor Quality Plan, Product Hold, and implement changes to improve operating efficiency.
  19. Develop, justify, and implement manufacturing QA process improvements.
  20. Compile and analyze test information and QA metrics to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment.
  21. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  2. SQF Certified Practitioner preferred.
  3. HACCP Certified
  4. Internal Auditor Trained preferred.
  5. 2+ years of Food Safety, Quality Control, Quality Assurance or other regulatory related leadership experience within a USDA or FDA environment.
  6. Experience implementing and operating GFSI programs (BRC, SQF, etc.) in a food processing environment.
