Salary Range: $73.29-$120.93/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

The Executive Director Development - Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute develops, monitors, and executes a strategic plan for fundraising including endowment growth efforts, annual fund, fundraising campaigns, stewardship, planned giving, as well as special events and communications that build relationships with our constituency base.

Builds and strengthens relationships with the Hoag Hospital Foundation (HHF) board, Hospital board, IPSF board, and volunteer leadership board members. Meets with, cultivates and solicits major and principal gift prospects. Works with (HHF) and volunteer community members on prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities. Develops, oversees, and executes strategic plans based on organizational priorities, special projects and/or a comprehensive campaign. Communicates a clear vision of how to achieve outcomes in their respective areas in part by philanthropic support of capital, technology, endowment, people and programs. Strengthens advocacy and diversity; focuses on involving the community in meaningful ways – with the objective being improved access to adequate, affordable, world-class health care.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Ten or more years of progressively responsible professional fundraising experience in public health, health systems, higher education, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Experience building the culture of philanthropy. Experience developing major gift strategies. Experience developing a fundraising program from the ground up.

Experience working with fundraising committees and Boards of Directors. Direct experience in the management of major gifts in a campaign setting along with the use of prospect research, data organization, and case statement development. Experience in the analysis and interpretative skills for major gift fundraising purposes including summary assessment with recommended action steps for cultivation and solicitation of individuals, corporations, foundations, associations, and societies, for volunteer service, major gift, and pledge support.
