Blair Academy, situated minutes from New Jersey’s Delaware Water Gap and one hour west of New York City, welcomes nominations and applications for the position of Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFOO). Embracing the school’s mission, the CFOO role requires a relational, analytical, and strategic administrator with excellent interpersonal skills and business acumen to oversee the school’s financial portfolio and manage its daily operations.

The CFOO will partner with a strategic, energetic and ambitious Head of School, Board of Trustees, senior leadership team, and broader community of students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff to write the next chapter in our great school’s 177-year history.
Founded in 1848, Blair Academy is a private, coeducational, boarding and day school in Blairstown, New Jersey, that currently supports 467 students in grades nine through twelve plus postgraduate. Reporting to the Head of School, the Chief Financial and Operations Officer serves on the senior leadership team and oversees and collaborates with staff members in the Business Office and in the Facilities, Buildings and Grounds, Security and Technology departments. In addition, the CFOO attends all Board of Trustees meetings and liaises directly with the Budget, Investment, Risk, and Buildings and Grounds committees of the Board.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFOO leads, supervises, and manages the Business Office team of four, as well as the Director of Facilities, the Director of Technology, bookstore and mailroom operations, and the team members within each of these areas. In addition, the CFOO oversees the childcare learning center, as well as outsourced contracts for housekeeping and food services.
Exhibiting the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct, the successful CFOO candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years of business or school finance experience. A CPA or master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, law, or related field preferred.
