Position Overview
This position will be responsible for the purchasing and operations scheduling of packaged goods being sold into various industries to meet targeted inventory levels within Tilley or based on specific orders for customers.
Job Type: Full-time/Hybrid
Essential Functions
- Review daily MRP demand, issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries through the delivery receipt. Review and approve vendor invoices, reconcile pricing discrepancies, and conduct margin analysis
- Review on-demand planning and determine proper inventory levels using SIOP
- Monitor stock patterns and suggest stocking level changes if needed to maintain customer supply
- Build effective partnerships with key suppliers. Monitor performance metrics and oversee satisfactory resolution of complaints and open issues. Keep abreast of changes that may affect product supply or demand, as well as promotional pricing and incentives that may impact profitability.
- Schedule direct shipments from suppliers to customers and process paperwork
- Coordinate intercompany logistics and product supply
Qualifications
- 3-5 year of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or operations roles required
- Excellent communication skills to promote a positive work environment
- High attention to detail in a multi-tasking environment
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
- Knowledgeable/experience working with an MRP or ERP system.
- Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to interface, communicate/collaborate on all levels internally and externally.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Flexible - adapt to supply chain and operation process variations to support customer requirements.
- Understand the total cost of doing business as it applies to purchasing, logistics, and scheduling.
- Self-starter, strong initiative, dependable, and capable of following through with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Process Improvement methodologies is highly desired
- Analytical and process driven is a must.
- Resourceful problem-solving skills (must be a personal passion).
Work Environment
- Indoor/Standard Office Environment until proficient.
- Hybrid work location schedules are available

- Keyboarding. Entering text or data into a computer using a traditional keyboard.
- Speaking. Expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing Requirements. The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds. (i.e., in-person speech, telephone, computer, etc.)
- Near Visual Acuity. Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., use of computers.)
