Job Description: The Department of Business, Aviation, and Construction Professions at Dutchess Community College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position in Aviation Science. This position has an expected start date in August 2025. Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate classes in aviation science flight and management; Preparation and management of classroom experiences and assessments to develop successful learning outcomes; Assisting students in achieving academic success; Participation in college activities, including membership on shared governance committees. Requirements: Required qualifications: Master's degree in aviation or closely related field; Federal Aviation Administration Certified Flight Instructor Airplane Single Engine and Instrument Airplane OR Advanced Ground Instructor and Instrument Ground Instructor; At least five years' work experience in the aviation industry; An appreciation for diversity of all types and how diversity impacts learning and instruction. Preferred qualifications: Experience teaching at the college level, ideally at a community college; Experience in using instructional technology in the classroom and a willingness to adopt new and emerging technologies; Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Brightspace, Blackboard, or Canvas; An understanding and appreciation of the role of the community college in higher education. Additional Information: The Tenure Track Faculty - Aviation Science: Pilot position is a full-time, permanent position. CLASSIFICATION / SALARY Class: DUE / Faculty Salary: $71,996 - $80,376 commensurate with experience and terminal degree.
