Description
Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR, and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and LiveNation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.
Proof of the Pudding, operator of COTA Catering, is seeking additional Kitchen Stewards to join the COTA team. Stewards are responsible for a wide range of tasks to help ensure efficient overall operations of the changing event logistics and business needs. Work assignments and tasks can change daily based on the immediate needs of the event calendar. Food service consists of hospitality and concessions of sporting events, a daily staff caf, multiple concerts, and year-round racing events including one of America's only F1 races - The Grand Prix.
This is seasonal/part-time work as business needs are dictated by athletic events.

Education and/or Experience:
The work environment for this position will work out of and report to Circuit of the Americas. Events may be indoors, outdoors, or in temporary structures. This position will spend the majority of time in the kitchen and dish pit area where there will be hot water, chemicals, and typical kitchen equipment and utensils.

Essential duties and responsibilities
- Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
- Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
- Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
- Properly washes, stacks, and stores China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
- Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
- Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
- Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
- Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing China and warehouse.
- Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
- Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to follow directions.
- Must be a phenomenal team player.
- 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred, experience in customer service role is preferred.
- ServSafe Certified preferred.
- Planning and multi-tasking
- Self-motivated with a high energy level
- Flexibility to work events, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces. Traveling throughout the event space in different terrains.
- Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to lifting up-to 30 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
- Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
