Do you want to work with a growing team on exciting projects and learn more about lubricant and grease formulation? We are seeking a smart, passionate and experienced Chemist who has worked with lubricants and/or greases chemistry. In this role you will work closely with a Formulation and Stewardship Manager on interesting projects aimed at improving our existing product offerings and taking our brands to the next level. In this role you will be required to blend and tests new formulations, evaluate new raw materials and improve products as novel technologies evolves as well as reformulation of existing product to support production plant, marketing or field requirements. This role will be responsible for multiple projects, and reporting project findings and data directly to manager. The position will expand knowledge and use of several analytical instruments according to ASTM, DIN, ISO methods, Industry and OEM specifications. Chemist must be familiar with laboratory safe practices, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will attend internal and external trainings and seminars. The position relies on guidelines under immediate supervision of the Product Development Manager. KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support Research and Product development activities Perform hand blends and performance evaluations Record and maintenance test data logs Write laboratory procedures and reports Maintain test knowledge, specifications and performance properties Appropriate use of equipment according to industry standard methods Support for QC laboratory and production team members Accurately document test results and communicate effectively at all levels Maintain data integrity and cleanliness of the laboratory and equipment Ability to work overtime as required Other job duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES
: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry Minimum of 2 years' industrial laboratory experience Familiar with SDE, chemical handling and appropriate PPE usage for safe laboratory practices Familiar with utilizing technical software (formulation and laboratory equipment programs)
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES
: Experience with ASTM, DIN, ISO, IP methods and laboratory equipment for testing lubricants and grease
COMPETENCIES: Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, reporting data with knowledge of Microsoft Office Self-motivated; ability to be accountable for achieving short and long-term goals in a dynamic environment Effective time management skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask simultaneously Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization Ability to foster positive work relationships Ability to work as part of a team Ability to complete projects in a timely manner and get results Ability to supports the strategic and operational direction of the business Demonstration of Calumet Values
