Graphic Design Manager

Edlavitch Jewish Community Center, Washington, District of Columbia, us, 20022

Position Overview The EDCJCC is looking to hire a graphic designer to join our small but mighty marketing and communications team. The right candidate will have experience managing and maintaining an ever-evolving brand identity, will be able to provide visual materials that elevate the vision and work of a multi-faceted community organization, and tell the story about who we are and where we’re going. In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to design everything from branded campaigns to infographics, custom illustrations, charts, arts catalogues, video, web content, and more. The EDCJCC is on the eve of the 100th anniversary of our building on 16th and Q, and sits at an intersection of celebrating and honoring our past, and envisioning what the next 100 years could and should look like. Our visual identity reflects that intersection: who are we, where did we come from, and where are we headed? This position is for a creative who loves variety: someone who can create the artwork for an annual film and music festival; create new, elevated branding for annual campaigns; lay out text and photos for reports for funders; or develop a PowerPoint deck for an internal board meeting. We are seeking someone who is capable of rolling up their sleeves and supporting the day-to-day needs of promoting the programs and initiatives of a multi-faceted community center, while also being able to participate in brain-storming and strategic thinking in an effort to tell our story to an expanding, diverse, and vibrant community. The Graphic Design Manager will report to the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement and will collaborate interdepartmentally. A successful candidate will be able to juggle multiple “clients” and competing priorities, and will have robust experience using Adobe Creative Suite and operating on a Wordpress platform. Goals and Responsibilities Act as a visual storyteller by collaborating with stakeholders to translate programmatic goals into visually engaging designs that fully communicate ideas, speak to specific audiences, and drive revenue. Act as project manager for all graphic design needs, guiding products from inception to completion, ensuring quality control and consistency on final projects. Ensure a unified visual identity across the EDCJCC’s projects and maintain strong brand equity through enforcing compliance with corporate style guides and brand guidelines.

Provide design support for internal and external presentations for senior leadership (Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Slides). Qualifications At least four years' relevant work experience. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required. Experience managing an organization’s brand identity, ensuring that it's consistent and impactful across all channels and touchpoints.

Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and aligning new materials to existing branding guidelines

Experience with designing for multiple platforms including digital, print, social media, web, email, and presentations.
