Position Summary Join UNM-Taos and make a meaningful impact in our community! We seek a Branch Recruitment Specialist /Indigenous Outreach Coordinator who will play a vital role in our mission to serve and support Indigenous students. The Outreach Department at UNM-Taos acts as a bridge between education and the community, fostering strong relationships and offering programs, support, and opportunities that enhance educational access and student success. As an Branch Recruitment Specialist/Indigenous Outreach Coordinator, you will provide culturally informed outreach, guidance, and support to current and prospective Indigenous students. Your work will be instrumental in increasing Indigenous student enrollment, retention, and college success. This position involves collaboration with Taos Pueblo leadership, supporting students in navigating college resources and honoring Indigenous traditions. The role is based at the UNM-Taos Klauer campus and Taos Pueblo, with travel within the Taos area and occasional evening or weekend work required. Responsibilities include * Assist Indigenous students in accessing and navigating resources at UNM-Taos. * Provide information to Indigenous students and their families about opportunities in higher education. * Advocate for Indigenous students to promote their success in their educational journey. * Collaborate with Taos Pueblo educational leadership to identify appropriate academic support for Indigenous students and encourage academic success. * Participate in monthly meetings between UNM-Taos and Taos Pueblo to ensure the ongoing communication, support, and alignment of services provided by the Branch Recruitment Specialist/Indigenous Student Outreach Coordinator. Conditions of Employment A valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license within thirty days of hire, is required for this job. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
Proficient understanding of the Taos Pueblo governmental structure, history, and cultural protocols. Speak northern Tiwa or other Native Languages. Experience developing cultural learning content for postsecondary faculty and staff.
