Job Description Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Job Specialty: Home Health

Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: At least one year of home care experience, with mostly outpatient experience in acute care, ortho, neuro, and pediatrics.
License: State Licensure (MI LARA)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Must-Have: - Active Driver's License - Auto Insurance - Reliable Vehicle - Clean DMV Report - Skills Checklist pertinent to the specialty - Two Supervisory Reference Forms taken within the last two years - Facility has a 50-mile radius restriction for candidates' permanent address.
Job Description:
- Delegate responsibility to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Aides. - Focus on patient-centered activities using assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation following occupational therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures. - Evaluate patients' functions through formal/informal testing to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular status, developmental, social, and cognitive functions. - Develop a goal-specific treatment regime based on assessment data and the patient's tolerance to execute the prescribed treatment plan. - Submit a written treatment plan to be included as part of the plan of treatment authorized by and coordinated with the physician; update the plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status. - Co-sign verbal orders received by occupational therapist assistant as necessary. - Devise a treatment schedule that is frequency and duration specific, to be discussed with the patient/family/caregiver and coordinated with clinical support staff. - Educate patients, families, and/or caregivers regarding pathology or condition, patient alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions. - Participate in one weekend per month rotation.
