The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Lead Software Engineer at our facility in Columbia, MD. Collaborate with an experienced team of engineers who are committed to helping you grow in your career!
Program Overview: Our program encompasses a large, multi-year initiative aimed at the development, integration, deployment, and ongoing support of extensive collection systems. The work being conducted under this Leidos-led contract is crucial to governmental operations and offers team members the chance to work independently while exploring new technologies. Job Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance intricate systems including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, handling large data sets, real-time systems, and management information systems, fulfilling documented requirements.
Perform hardware and software integration, infrastructure setup, and provisioning.
Review and test software components to ensure compliance with design specifications and document the testing outcomes.
Address and resolve software problem reports utilizing appropriate software development and design methodologies.
Contribute insight to system design, focusing on hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the application of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) or Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) solutions.
Deliver comprehensive lifecycle support for complex data systems and networks.
Leverage your Python expertise alongside any administration or maintenance experience.
Possess knowledge of SIGINT systems and their data flows and provide technical guidance related to those systems.
Function effectively within a team environment.
System administration and/or network engineering background will be considered with the requisite skill set.

Must possess an active
TS/SCI with polygraph
clearance to be eligible for this position. Basic Qualifications: 14 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer in programs of similar scope and complexity. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution. Alternatively, 4 years of additional software engineering experience can substitute for a bachelor’s degree. A self-motivated individual who excels at problem-solving. Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing full lifecycle support for complex data systems and networks. Prior experience with Python, BASH scripting, Robot framework, Jira, and programming in a Linux environment. Some knowledge of SIGINT systems and data flows. Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance related to SIGINT systems. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
