In each case, the speech-language pathologist involves the family in the treatment process to ensure not only the best treatment outcomes, but also a high level of family satisfaction with the process. Our efforts are also directed toward making the therapy a positive and enjoyable experience for the child. About the Open Job: We are recruiting an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist who has interest and expertise in evaluation and treatment of dysphagia in infants, children, and adolescents with a range of medical complications. This position will include regular collaboration with medical professionals and requires experience in performing and interpreting video swallow studies in the outpatient setting. Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Open to negotiating schedule, but also interested in some "family friendly" hours of 4pm and after. This job will work at the Medical Office Building (MOB), located at 3430 Burnet Avenue. Required Qualifications: * Master's degree in speech-language pathology or communication sciences & disorders * Active conditional or permanent license in speech-language pathology in the State of Ohio. * Have Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) granted by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Previous feeding/video swallow study experience is highly desired. (PLEASE NOTE Clinical Fellowships are not being considered for this position.) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Clinical Care and Follow-up: Using appropriate service delivery model, performs all routine and specialty diagnostic evaluations, with focus on complex cases in areas of advanced competency. Administers appropriate tests according to standard procedures; makes accurate diagnoses, appropriate recommendations and referrals. Counsels parents and provides appropriate handouts and home programs. Uses best practice decision-making to determine the appropriate frequency and duration of therapy. Formulates appropriate goals for every patient in treatment. Involves parents in treatment plan and treatment process. Consistently implements and documents tools and strategies of self-management. Structures sessions and selects appropriate intervention strategies to accomplish goals. Documents progress daily and updates treatment plan as appropriate.
