JOB SUMMARY:
The Heavy Equipment Lube Technician plays an important role in maintaining our fleet or trucks and construction equipment to ensure safe operation. This position is responsible for fueling, lubricating and maintaining heavy equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Effectively fuel, lubricate and service all levels of mobile light and heavy equipment.
- Perform routine inspection and periodic maintenance on mobile heavy equipment.
- Notify Mechanics and/or Plant Manager of any maintenance or repairs needed.
- Maintain multiple layers of recordkeeping.
- Maintains constant awareness of safety, efficiency and displays a flexibility and out of the box thinking with the capability to solve problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
- 1-2 years’ experience with preventive maintenance and lube repair desired.
- Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently, be able to crawl, climb, bend and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to read, understand and follow safety policies and procedures
- Willing to work outside in all types of weather.
- Must have a current driver license
- Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card cert
WORK ENVIRONMENT:· Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.· The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.· Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery. PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:· Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.ADDITIONAL INFO:Position Type: Full-Time Classification: Non-ExemptSupervisory Status: Supervisor Duties, responsibilities, and work activities may evolve or change as business necessitates.
