We are seeking smart and motivated developers to join our team of Software Engineers responsible for the evolution of our trading platform. In this role you will engage in the full cycle development and deployment of C++ applications and libraries, to solve challenging problems including handling high throughput with maximum efficiency, reacting to events in the market with low latency, and maintaining stability. With the ever-changing demands of markets and financial technology worldwide, our trading systems are in a constant state of improvement and expansion.
Prior experience in the trading industry is not required, as mentorship programs and in-house educational courses are offered to all employees.
This position requires three days in the office each week, with an initial training period of five days in the office to ensure thorough onboarding and knowledge transfer.
The total compensation range for this role is approximately $140,000-$200,000 contingent on experience. Wolverine Trading's total compensation model includes base salary and an annual discretionary bonus.
What You’ll Do:
Engage in full life cycle development and deployment of C++ applications and libraries, spanning exchange gateways, trading strategy execution, and trade reporting.
Implement clean, stable, and low-latency code.
Collaborate closely with our quant team, sharing insights and leveraging data to optimize performance, identify new trading prospects, and design new features.
Troubleshoot real-time, complex data issues.
Continuously improve performance and update systems, ensuring the integrity and reliability of existing applications.
Turn requirements into concrete designs, iterate on designs with peers and business advisors, and ultimately deliver optimized applications in a timely manner.
Provide insights on how to optimize, modernize, and simplify our system on your own initiative, as well as ways to improve usability and scalability.
What We're Looking For:
3+ years of professional programming experience, in C++, C#, or Java.
Experience in writing clean, modern C++, grounded in robust knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Diligent, with a strong attention to detail.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, able to convey design decisions to people from various technical backgrounds.
A collaborative mindset, actively engaging in code reviews and embracing opportunities to learn from fellow team members.
Organized and self-directed, able to manage your own workload and provide reasonable estimates for completion.
Ideal Qualifications:
Proficiency in multi-threaded application development concepts.
Experience in a Linux/Unix environment.
Expertise in STL and Boost libraries, and optimization techniques.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Exposure to distributed system architectures.
