The Data Modeler role works with stakeholders across technology and product teams to build the data model for the enterprise data warehouse and analytics needs across areas such areas as Underwriting, Claims, Finance, etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead design discussions and create conceptual and logical data models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse Manage and maintain data models and define reporting strategies Perform data quality analysis and propose solutions to identified issues Guide product teams in creating physical data model designs and data dictionaries Review design adherence to ensure standards and best practices are followed Facilitate discussions to understand data sources and establish systems of record Create information architecture roadmaps with current and future state data flows Interact with stakeholders across diverse teams, both IT and business Interprets model results and identifies potential model errors, such as overfitting Reporting Relationship

Typically Reports to System Architect or above

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

8+ years of data modeling experience with expertise in relational and/or dimensional analysis Experience in Insurance Industry, preferably in Property and Casualty Insurance Deep understanding of data modeling principles and architecture concepts Knowledge of different database platforms (relational and NoSQL) Experience with enterprise data modeling tools such as ERWIN 3+ years of experience in a data lake environment Experience with database technologies such as GCP Big Query, PostgreSQL, IICS, Composer, Github etc. Understanding of ETL processes to load large data warehouses Ability to work as an individual contributor Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with agile teams in articulating the model and guiding the development Advanced analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills to effectively resolve complex situations and issues Education & Experience

Master's degree or equivalent work experience. Typically a minimum of eight years of related work experience.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
