The MySchools Operational Support Project will provide critical support for the continued operation of MySchools, deliver technical upgrades to maintain compliance, implement enhancements to address evolving policy and leadership priorities, and ensure the smooth and timely execution of key enrollment initiatives that respond to the needs of families and other stakeholders.

The System Architect is responsible for designing and implementing architecture solutions that align with both business and IT objectives. This role involves overseeing the software and hardware components of systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and addressing constraints to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-stack technologies and the ability to guide development teams toward optimal architectural solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES System Design and Architecture:

Develop system architecture that meets scalability, security, and performance requirements. Design and document software and hardware components of the system, ensuring alignment with business goals. Create and maintain architectural blueprints, including diagrams, workflows, and technical documentation. Technology Oversight:

Define technical standards and best practices for development teams. Provide expertise in Python, Django Framework (4.x), PostgreSQL, Redis, React, and API development. Evaluate new technologies and frameworks for integration into the architecture. Implementation and Development Support:

Guide development teams in implementing architecture designs. Oversee the integration of software and hardware systems, ensuring seamless operation. Ensure alignment of APIs with system requirements for interoperability and efficiency. Performance and Security:

Conduct system performance analysis and implement optimizations as needed. Design solutions with security best practices to ensure data protection and system integrity. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into architectural designs. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams. Communicate architectural decisions and their impact to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Compliance and Standards:

Ensure systems comply with organizational policies, standards, and industry best practices. Address project constraints, including cost, time, and resource limitations, within architectural designs.

REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder. 4+ years in System Architecture or related roles. Expertise in Python and Django Framework (4.x) for back-end development. Proficiency in PostgreSQL for database design and management. Experience with Redis for caching and performance optimization. Strong knowledge of React for front-end development and API integration. Proven ability to design and develop scalable APIs. Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Ability to mentor and guide development teams. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Proficiency in containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems. Strong understanding of system performance profiling and optimization techniques.
