JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Physician - Family Practice
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Bellingham, WA
• Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: ASAP - Ongoing
• Shift Schedule: Mon to Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Neonates - Geriatrics • Patient Volume/Census: Up to 21 per day • Case Mix: Family medicine, walk-in/acute care, chronic disease management, vulnerable populations
FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: EPIC (experience required) • Office Equipment Available: Basic procedures equipment (e.g., injections, IUD placement, minor wound care) • Specialty Backup Available: On-site specialists (e.g., mental health therapists, dietitians) • Support Staff Available: Dedicated medical assistant, receptionist • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Credentialing Timeline: 2-3 weeks
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (flight, lodging, and mileage or rental car)
REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Basic family medicine procedures: Injections, IUD placement, minor wound care
JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Washington state license required • Board Certification: BC in Family Practice • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and active DEA • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Family Practice; recent face-to-face patient care within the past year • Other Qualifications: Clean background (no malpractice); flu and COVID-19 vaccinations required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide family medicine care to a diverse patient population, including vulnerable groups such as migrants and refugees. • Manage outpatient clinical services, including acute care and chronic disease management. • Perform basic family medicine procedures as needed. • Utilize EPIC EMR system for documentation and patient records. • Work collaboratively with a dedicated medical assistant and other support staff. • Ensure compliance with clinic policies and standards.
