As the Senior Business Enablement Manager at WaFd Bank, you will lead and mentor a dedicated team focused on developing WaFd Bank's data into a strategic asset. Reporting directly to the Chief Data Officer, you will oversee data governance initiatives, partnering with stakeholders across the organization to improve data literacy and develop a common language for business. Your leadership will drive the expansion of WaFd's data literacy by championing the power of data, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Team Leadership and Development:
Hire, manage, and mentor a strong team of data professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Data Governance:
Establish and collaboratively lead a data governance program that ensures data consistency, integrity, quality, and security. Business Process Improvement:
Partner with business units to identify and prioritize business processes that are inefficient or the root cause of bad data. Data Management and Integrity:
Collaborate with business units to identify and prioritize data quality improvement opportunities. Analytics Ambassador:
Promote data literacy and culture across the organization by organizing workshops and training sessions. Risk / Compliance:
Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations related to data privacy and protection. Documentation and Procedures:
Create and manage documentation, policies, and procedures necessary to enforce standards. Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with related regulations, best practices, tools, trends, and new technologies. Team Player:
Commit to a collaborative mindset and perform other duties as needed in support of the team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, data management, information systems, or related quantitative field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or equivalent demonstrated performance. A minimum of 3 years in a managerial role leading technical teams. Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance practices, and data modeling concepts. Proficient in SQL and experienced with relational databases. Familiarity with data integration and ETL tools. Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools is a plus. Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Experience in fintech or a financial institution is a significant advantage. Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and management skills.
