Overview: Are you an experienced Pathologists' Assistant ready to lead a dedicated team? Join us at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where you'll oversee daily operations, ensure quality assurance, and contribute to resident training. This role offers a unique blend of leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on pathology work.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership: - Supervise Laboratory Assistants and Pathology Specialists I, ensuring efficient workflow and communication. - Develop coverage schedules, coordinate equipment and supply needs, and address safety concerns. - Train and mentor pathology residents, medical students, and new staff. Quality Assurance: - Oversee specimen quality assurance, resolving discrepancies and ensuring protocol adherence. - Implement and review quality assurance programs and prepare for regulatory inspections. General Pathologists' Assistant Duties: - Perform gross description and dissection of surgical pathology specimens. - Conduct post-mortem examinations and assist in frozen section labs. - Support departmental clinical studies, teaching, and research activities. Qualifications: Master's Degree from NAACLS accredited and AAPA approved Pathologists' Assistant Training Program required prior to date of hire. PA(ASCP) certification required. Recent graduates must obtain PA(ASCP) certification within 1 calendar year from date of training program completion. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Pathologists' Assistant in an academic medical setting. Strong leadership, organizational, and technical dissection skills. Excellent knowledge of anatomy, surgical pathology, and medical terminology. Ability to perform frozen sections and troubleshoot complex issues independently. *Current MGB employees or former employees (separated from the MGB organization for less than 1 year) are not eligible for the sign on bonus.
