Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Finance Manager
with a proven track record of overseeing comprehensive financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving operational efficiency on both the vendor and client side. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting and financial processes, from day-to-day bookkeeping to high-level financial analysis and strategic recommendations. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this role will collaborate closely with production teams, talent management, and external partners to maintain financial health and transparency across all divisions. Additionally, this role will support the personal financial accounts of the companys principals. Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Analysis Oversee full-cycle accounting, including cash flow, AP/AR, payroll, bank and credit card reconciliations, and budget creation. Prepare and analyze financial statements (cash flow, balance sheet, income statement). Provide consistent variance analysis, forecasts, and actionable insights to executive management. Financial Reporting & Compliance Deliver year-end and quarterly financial data to inform tax return preparation in coordination with the CPA. Ensure all Guild reporting and contributions remain up-to-date and accurate. Monitor compliance with international tax laws, VAT/GST, and cross-border requirements. Strategic Planning & Decision Support Routinely advise executive management with key financial metrics and recommendations for investment, cost savings, and overall strategy. Assist with creating project budgets and maintain ongoing budget-to-actuals reporting for multiple productions. Collaborate with principals and producers on weekly cash flow management across various productions and entities. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement Maintain and enhance classing/categorization systems in QuickBooks Online for multiple productions and business lines. Track and monitor expenses and revenues, ensuring accurate project-based coding and class tracking. Drive efficiency in financial processes, including workflows for international currency transactions and vendor management. Stakeholder Relationship Management Manage banking relationships, credit card accounts, and government loan programs. Liaise with external auditors, tax professionals, and vendors to ensure seamless operations. Handle personal financial accounts of the companys owners with discretion and integrity. Regulatory & Insurance Compliance Keep current on accounting regulations, best practices, and industry standards. Oversee operational requirements such as insurance, workers compensation, and other coverage across all divisions. Qualifications & Experience Education : Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Experience : 57 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, preferably within film/TV or commercial production settings. Technical Expertise : QuickBooks Online
proficiency is required. Advanced
Microsoft Excel
skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas). Familiarity with
Microsoft Office
(Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of Production Accounting Software such as
Showbiz
or
Hot Budgets . Financial Acumen : Strong understanding of GAAP, financial forecasting, budgeting, and multi-currency transactions. Soft Skills : Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable collaborating with diverse teams.
