Posted Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 5:00 AM For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. STATEMENT OF THE JOB Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Job Developer will provide job placement and follow-up support to immigrants. The Job Developer will assist immigrants in securing employment, improving financial stability, and achieving self-sufficiency through skills assessment, job training, employer partnerships, and ongoing support.
Conduct outreach to develop employment opportunities and internships leading to job placements. Facilitate job readiness workshops and training sessions to enhance clients' skills in areas such as resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace communication. Provide personalized coaching and mentorship to empower clients during their job search and placement. Provide job placement follow-up support which includes monitoring the work site, resolving conflicts, and job replacements if/when necessary. Offer continuous follow-up and support to ensure successful workplace integration, address challenges, and explore career advancement opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Human Services is preferred or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with 3 additional years of experience. 2 years’ experience in a social service organization-employment related program. Experience supervising staff. Community organizing experience is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish required. Must be available to work in person 5 days a week. Must be able to travel between numerous sites in different boroughs.
