South Shore Hospital, Southeastern Massachusetts's leading provider of emergency, acute, and outpatient care, is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Officer to join our Foundation team. This position is based out of the Foundation office in Rockland, MA; a hybrid work schedule is permitted.

Reporting to the Director of Development, Major Gifts and External Relations of the South Shore Health Foundation, the Major Gifts Officer will play a key role in expanding the major gifts pipeline and deepening philanthropic relationships in support of South Shore Health.

Build and manage a portfolio of up to 150 major gift prospects, with a focus on those individuals and corporations with a giving potential of $25,000 or more Work collaboratively and independently to develop and implement effective strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts in support of quarterly and annual revenue goals Establish and manage relationships with major donors and prospects, including individuals, businesses, and foundations to assess giving potential and involvement with South Shore Health Conduct face-to-face visits, solicitations, and other meaningful interactions with major gift donors and prospects, at times in partnership with board members or leadership from South Shore Health Work with prospect research to utilize existing data to support portfolio development and management Routinely participate in Foundation strategy sessions with the Foundation team to discuss all active major gift donors and prospects Identify, recruit, train, motivate, and assist volunteer leadership to solicit prospective donors in person Work cooperatively with the Foundation Operations Team to assure that donors are acknowledged accurately, appropriately, and promptly Skills & Abilities

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Must be able to anticipate and meet deadlines and defined goals Multitasking and prioritization skills Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team Microsoft Office Suite Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred 3+ years of professional fundraising/development experience in a healthcare, higher education, or grassroots/non-profit environment Proficiency with Raiser's Edge

Monday - Friday, 9a - 5p

Occasional night and weekend work
