THE ROLE: SonTek, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer. The MEE will develop test procedures, test, and assemble SonTek products. This is a hands-on role supporting the daily production needs of operations. Duties include troubleshooting down to the component level, training and mentoring technicians and associates, and developing and managing new processes for product launches. The role also involves defining and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop, write, and maintain process-specific documentation including control plans, PFMEAs, Operator Work Instructions, Preventative Maintenance Plans, and Process Sheets. Provide high-level troubleshooting support to maintenance and technicians utilizing machine documentation, supplier contacts, and sound problem-solving techniques. Work with controls engineering to specify and debug code for automation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, purchasing, logistics, and operations in support of current and new programs. Engage with external vendors to define, select, deliver, and qualify new solutions for the assembly and test process, using industry best practices. Recommend modifications to fixtures and tools to support quality and continuous improvement exercises. Train and mentor Manufacturing Technicians, Associates, and Coaches in process and product-related matters. Generate and maintain Test Process and Test fixtures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in engineering with at least 6 years of Production/Manufacturing experience, or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering plus at least 4 years, or Master’s degree in engineering plus at least 0 years. Experience with all phases of electronic circuits (AC, DC, Digital, Analog, RF circuits). Experience in assembly and/or testing of complex electronic components. Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization. Proven time management skills and respect for deadlines. Exposure to Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, and 5S programs. Able to read, modify, and generate schematics using P-Cad and PADS. Able to handle and control test equipment: DMM, Scope, Function Generator, Vector Network Analyzer. Able to write test software using LabVIEW, C#. Able to write or modify firmware is a plus. Knowledge of SQL databases. Able to hand solder electronic components, boards, and wires. Able to build test fixtures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Light lifting (20-25 lbs.), office environment. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.
