Job Description Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Job Specialty: Rehab Services
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour days, Monday through Friday with weekend rotation (typically 1 Saturday per month)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)
Experience: 1-year previous experience as a Speech Pathologist
License: Respective state license
Certifications: - Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC) by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), unless completing Clinical Fellowship Year - CPR - American Heart BLS
Must-Have: - Valid state driver's license - Analytical ability to administer and evaluate standardized speech/language tests - Ability to conduct swallowing evaluations, evaluate patient capabilities, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
Job Description: - Assist patients in the restoration or development of swallowing, speech, and communication functions through evaluation and treatment. - Utilize specialized equipment and documentation systems, specifically Epic documentation. - Required to see patients on medical/surgical units as well as the acute rehab unit. - Conduct video fluoroscopic studies as requested. - Participate in an accelerated onboarding process, supported by a quality and education coordinator and the department manager. - Ability to float to other units/departments as necessary. - Participate in peer-to-peer mentoring with other speech therapists in the region. - Attend Epic training during the first three days. - Wear black scrubs to work. - Promote a drug-free campus environment through successful completion of a drug screen.
