SCOPE OF WORK: Provides professional administrative coordination for the Fine Arts Program, with responsibility for assisting with the hiring, coordination, and oversight of adjunct faculty; program promotion and student recruitment; and monitoring, assessing, and evaluating curricula. This position reports to the Department Chair of Liberal Arts and Department Chair of CIS, Graphic Design and Human Services at Lakes Region Community College. ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Serves as liaison for the College with the Greater Lakes Region Fine Arts & Graphic Design community.
Serves as faculty advisor for students in the Fine Arts & Graphic Design Degrees and certificate programs.
Coordinates with the Department Chair on the recruiting and selection of Adjunct Faculty for the Fine Arts and Graphic Design Degree and certificate programs
Monitors and updates curricula within the Fine Arts and Graphic Design Degree and certificate programs in collaboration with the Fine Arts & Graphic Design Advisory Committee and the Department Chair.
Participates in College activities in support of the Fine Arts & Graphic Design Degree and certificate programs and its students.
Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related field.
Experience: Three (3) years' teaching experience in Fine Arts or Graphic Design or industry experience as a Graphic Designer or within the field of Fine Arts.
OR
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related field.
Five (5) years' teaching experience in Fine Arts or Graphic Design or industry experience as a Graphic Designer or within the field of Fine Arts.
License/Certification: Valid New Hampshire driver's license.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in academic advising and curriculum planning, development, and evaluation.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of fine arts or graphic design as it relates to the course of instruction, teaching methods and materials, and curriculum development, and course/program evaluation. Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used for instruction within the program area. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and as a member of academic department/team. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality, as appropriate. Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decision-making. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
